How long have you been roleplaying? A couple years now.
Do you have any past experience roleplaying as a Civil Protection Unit? Yes I've role played as a lot of Civil Protection Units on other Half Life 2 role playing communities.
Two of them that I recall off the bat are.

What lead your character to join the Metropolice Force? Mark can clearly see that the Civil Protection have advantages and their beliefs on social order and judgement seem to intrigue him. He's tired of the grind of survival, he believes that the Combine are doing the right thing stripping humanity down to a more controllable and stable society.
What are your character's personality traits? (Personality and mentality.) He doesn't get offended easily, he's calm in high tensity situations, he's more concerned about others then himself, he has leadership qualities such as taking control of a situation no one is willing to take control of, his loyalty goes without question, he has a sense of humor but only when it calls for it, he's a critical thinker, and he analyses situations and people before beginning to take action.
Write a Background Story (App. 2+ Paragraphs) of your character's life, and how they got into their current situation:Anton Osmond was your average day to day citizen, never really broke the law even before the seven hour war. Mark Valentine was a student at the university of Denmark, studying physiology. Basically if Anton wasn't at school or studying he was trying to find a job, he mostly did part time work of all sorts. Painting, desk jobs, errands, etc. But all he wanted to do was analyze people and study how they think.
Now while working for a friend of his, Anton found himself constructing a makeshift bunker for his friend. You see his friend, Craig Masterson was a bit paranoid. After Craig saw the Black Mesa Incident on television and that aliens from Xen were escaping to earth. Craig believed that the world was gonna end and studied aliens and anomalies out of his paranoia. Anton has a history of paranoia himself but got physiatric help. So Anton wanted to help Craig out but Craig never listend, so Mark just constructed this bunker so Craig would be happy and stop going crazy.
A few days after Anton built the bunker the seven hour war had began, but Anton was still in the bunker when it happened he didn't really notice or hear anything due to the sound proof walls he installed. Anton was working inside the bunker day and night he slept inside the bunker to get it done early. After a few days while inside the bunker he was wondering where Craig was, Anton opened the door and stepped outside only to find the whole neighborhood in ruins. He sauntered to what was left of Craigs house, he saw a hand and swiftly removed all the rubble from on top of Craigs body. He found Craig torn apart and mutilated from the wreckage, Anton fell to his knees and was in anguish. He then felt a hand gently touch his shoulder, it was an overwatch soldier the soldier beamed at Anton and said "Come with me." Anton followed and was placed in the back of a truck, the other people inside the truck were neighbors and citizens of Denmark. The truck lead to colossal black as night walls with strange symbols on them. There were strange ships that were occupying the fields, some of the ships had people being thrown into them and then the ships just blasted off into the air. Anton was taken off the truck by these white suited men and thrown onto one of these very same ships. Himself and about fifthteen other people were taken over seas to Japan. There Anton was registered as a citizen of City 8 where he was now located, life was tough on Anton at first.
There were people being beaten to death in the streets, riots broke out, people stole, people killed each other. Anton just wanted a way out, and so he did. He met with a friend of his John King who found an occupation working for the CWU in City 8 he had a lot of pull with the combine, since members of the CWU got to transfer to a city of their choosing and take at least one friend or family member. John choose Anton and him and Anton left the city in a train, right before it was pacified by the Overwatch. Now John choose City 18 because he had relatives there, sadly the train was stopped and people were taken off. John was taken off due to him working for some rebels and giving his locator to a rebel giving away combine information and jeopardising countless squads of Civil Protection and Overwatch members. Anton finally got to City 18 stepped off the train and opened the doors to the city. This is where his new story begins...
Provide an example of passive roleplay as a Civil Protection Unit (App 2+ Paragraphs):
The sky is filled with grim, overshadowing clouds. The luminous street lights emit a blinding white light that shine down on the sidewalks. A Metropolitan Officer is strolling down the sidewalk and is tapping his baton on his leg in a repetitive manner. The Unit continues his patrol down the street and comes to a nearby wall he arches his back up against the wall and continues to tap his baton on his leg. He hears a citizens foot steps come closer and closer, he turns to the citizen and asks "What can I assist you with citizen?".
The citizen replies, "G-G-Good evening s-s-sir...I was wondering...do you have a spare rag I can borrow?...I have to finish cleaning the apartment windows..." The Unit replies "Sure thing". He opens a satchel on his belt and and pulls out a rag and hands it to the man. The citizen hesitantly grabs the rag and nods slowly then turning around and walking off slowly. The unit then proceeds to continue his patrol and notices a can on the ground near a trash can in the plaza, the unit peers around to find the culprit, but alas there is no one near the particular area. So he kneels down grabs the can and tosses it in the trash can, he then chuckles and saunters off back to his patrol.

The Metro Police Force, gives me a chance to show them, that petty acts of uncivil behavior, will be met with swift justice. I have a chance to enforce civil order among the masses, to truly integrate into the Combine Forces, to teach humanity that justice and order are more then words, they are perspectives.
